An exciting new band have just released their first album- and both the name of their band and album are inspired by this area.
Waverley keys are a band made up of pianist and composer Max Wilson, cellist Steph Patten and violist Ella Baruch.
Their co-written compositions are inspired by classical, soundtrack and popular music.
Max Wilson said: “I took my band to my mother’s weekend retreat in Innellan a few years ago to write new material.
“The views from the window of the Clyde estuary as we worked not only inspired the music, but also the name of the album, Innellan, and the name of the band, Waverley Keys.”
Max trained at the Royal Academy of Music and has had his music synced to many television productions and documentaries including BBC Horizon, BBC Natural World, Ghost Whisperer and America’s Most Wanted.
He has worked as a musical director and pianist for several stage plays and for other artists including Chas Smash from Madness.
His bandmates also have pretty impressive CV’s with cellist Steph Patten working as a session musician for film and TV and Viola player Ella Baruch having trained at the Royal College of Music.
Together the band have played at the Union Chapel and several festivals including Wilderness and Open City.
The band’s debut album features eleven singles and will be available on most streaming sites now.
