Robert McKirdy made a special trip to the Erskine home for ex-servicemen and women to present a generous donation of £1,550.00 to Jim Watret, the charity co-ordinator, raised from his latest quiz fundraiser on well-known Britons past and present.
The quiz proved to be a resounding success, attracting entries from across the UK, with participants as far north as Shetland and as far south as England.
In total, 325 correct entries were received, and the winners were drawn at random from the pool of participants.
The top three winners were: 1st, – Agnes Logan (Hamilton); 2nd, – Lily Barnett (Laurencekirk); 3rd, – Elizabeth Dunwoodie (Canonbie).
Robert McKirdy expressed his heartfelt thanks to all those who participated and helped to make the quiz such a success.
He also extended his thanks to all those who assisted in distributing and selling the quiz, ensuring that the fundraiser reached as many people as possible.
The £1,550 donation will go towards supporting the vital work carried out by the Erskine Home, which provides care and accommodation for veterans and ex-service personnel.
