Suspected blaze near Bishop Terrace causes concern

On Saturday afternoon emergency services were alerted to an incident on Bishop Terrace Brae, in Rothesay, with Brandanes speculating on social media as to the nature of the call-out and whether there had been casualties.

The Isle of Bute News contacted the fire service who confirmed that there had been no casualties and the situation had been swiftly brought under control by emergency services.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.56pm on Saturday, January 11, to reports of an incident at a property on Bishop Terrace Brae, Rothesay.

“Operations control mobilised two fire appliances to the scene.

“There were no casualties and crews left the scene at around 4.45pm after ensuring the area was made safe.”
