THE COMPETITION at Kyles of Bute Golf Club was close to being called off and rescheduled due to unpleasant weather, but apart from a brisk wind the weather improved as the day progressed and players competed for the Fiona and
Bob Budd Trophy.
First place and a well deserved winner was Peter MacBride with a net 63, second place was Mike McIntosh with a net 66 and third equal was Niall Mcfarlane and Tom G Whyte.
First place in the scratch was Gordon Whyte with a gross 70, whislt three competitors finished in second: Charles Marsh, Thomas B Whyte,Jamie MacVicar.
The club wished to thank Fiona and Bob for the trophy and the bottle and Dan MacRae for the pies.
Next Sunday is the Campbell Symington Trophy, with all gents
members welcome and ballot at 9.45am.
Elsewhere, the Ladies enjoyed their end of season outing to Rothesay Golf Club, whilst the nine-hole ladies played at Kingarth
where the weather was very wet but still produced some great scoring.
Winner over 18 holes was Eileen Stewart, runner-up was Susan Mutch with Di Ouzman in third.
Scratch winner on the day was Lucie Conney.
