Innellan Carpet Bowling Club’s season begins

THE 2025/26 season at Innellan Carpet Bowling Club began in earnest on Tuesday, October 7, at Innellan Village Hall as members battled it out to make an early impression.

The winners on the night, taking home the bragging rights, were Curly Black and Ernie Sykes, with Mary Joe, Tam Macdonald & Duncan Lauder finishing close behind.

A spokesperson for the club said: “It was great to get together again after six months and with 14 members on our first night we have high hopes for this season.”

Those involved with the club are keen to encourage as many people to join as possible.

With bowls provided and no need for special shoes, the club is open to all–with the added bonus of shelter from the rain and midges.

The spokesperson added: “If you find yourself at a loose end on Tuesday evenings, please come along and have a go.

“It’s such a great way to spend a winter evening, we have fun and catch up on all the goss at the tea-break. Yes, you even get a cuppa and a biscuit thrown in, all for £3 per evening.

“We’d love to see Innellan Carpet Bowls thrive again.”
