Hammer poised for St Mun’s charity auction this Saturday

ST MUN’S Craft Group will stage its next fundraising auction tomorrow (Saturday, October 18) at St Mun’s Hall, Dunoon. Doors open 1pm for viewing, with the live auction from 2–4pm.

Organisers promise a wide and varied mix of lots— ’something for everyone’— and are inviting locals to enjoy the buzz of bidding (and outbidding) for a good cause.

Taking the rostrum this year is Allan MacDougall, well known on the local music scene as conductor and musical director with the Clyde Coast Strathspey and Reel Society and Bearsßden Fiddles, and a regular helper at Cowal Fiddle Workshop rallies and Christmas

concerts.

“Being an auctioneer will be a new challenge for me, but I’m looking forward to it,” Allan said. “I’ll make sure as good a sum as possible is raised for Mary’s Meals.”

Entry is free; refreshments will be available. Cash and card payments for winning bids are expected to be accepted on the day (check at the door). All proceeds go to Mary’s Meals, supporting the charity’s work providing daily school meals to children in some of the world’s poorest communities.

For more information, contact St Mun’s Craft Group via their social channels— or just drop in from 1pm to browse the lots before the first hammer falls.
