Success for Anne McIlroy dancers

IT’S BEEN a busy and successful week for dancers from the Anne McIlroy School of Dance, who have been travelling far and wide to represent the island in a series of prestigious competitions.

On Saturday, October 11, dancers Ella-Mae McInairne, Addison Northey, and Georgina Wallace journeyed to Coatbridge to take part in the Lanarkshire Thistle Competition.

All three girls performed brilliantly, bringing home a fantastic set of results.

Addison achieved an impressive range of placings from first to fifth, while Ella- Mae was awarded runner- up trophy in her novice age group.

Georgina also shone on the day, receiving runner-up trophy in her beginners age group.

Not content with just one competition that week, Ella-Mae and her mum Laura travelled north to Fort William on Thursday, October 16, to attend the Royal National Mòd Highland Dancing Competition.

Competing in a very strong section of dancers, Ella-Mae once again performed beautifully and was delighted to be awarded the runner-up trophy in her novice age group.

The Anne McIlroy School of Dance continues to showcase the dedication of young island dancers, with these recent results reflecting the hard work and commitment of both the pupilsandtheteachers.
