Campaign for women’s football team on Bute

AFTER the success of Rothesay Brandanes and the continued growth of youth football groups like Brandane Bulls, a young Bute resident has taken matters into her own hands by gauging interest in a women’s football team.

19-year-old Keturah Duffin, originally from Hertfordshire, has enlisted the help of established footballing organisations on the island to drum up interest in a Brandane women’s side.

She said: “I’ve always kind of just had a passion for football.

“What inspired me was there’s little for the women on the island, and I just thought it would also be good for the community.”

Having played previously, Keturah aims to get a squad together to enter into a league system, eventually getting women’s football games going on Bute.

If you are aged 16 or older and you’d like to get involved, or have any questions at all, message Keturah on 07458309957.
