It was a truly outstanding event that brought great food and drinks, laughter and a wonderful sense of community to the heart of our town. The streets were bustling, the atmosphere was welcoming, and everywhere you looked there were smiling faces. Every stallholder I spoke to praised the event and said how much they had enjoyed being part of it. It was a real credit to everyone involved.
Events like this remind us what Dunoon can achieve when people come together with a shared vision and a determination to make our town even better.
Dunoon has so much to be proud of. We are blessed with some of the finest scenery in Scotland, award-winning schools, talented local businesses and shops, welcoming restaurants, cafés, pubs, and an incredible choice of activities – from sailing, golf, cycling and hiking to tennis, badminton, swimming and so much more.
But above all, Dunoon is about its people.
There are friends, there is family, and then there are Dunoon friends who become family.
Many of us have chosen to make Dunoon our home because we see something special here: a town with enormous potential, a strong community spirit and a future worth investing in.
No town is perfect, and we all know there are challenges. However, continually focusing on the negatives risks overshadowing everything that is good. Constructive criticism has its place, but so does recognising success and celebrating those who work tirelessly to improve our community.
As the saying goes: Release yesterday; seize today. Progress lies ahead.
Perhaps Dunoon is like a good cup of tea – it all depends on how you make it. If we choose optimism over pessimism, encouragement over criticism, and community over division, then the future of our amazing wee town is very bright indeed.
