Argyll Flyer back next week – but reduced timetable remains
Argyll Flyer on the Clyde this morning

After a six-month absence due to problems with a new engine and a propeller, MV Argyll Flyer is set to return to the Dunoon – Gourock route from November 1.

However, those hoping the service will return to a half-hourly timetable will be disappointed as the route’s other vessel – MV Ali Cat – is to be withdrawn for ‘planned upgrade works’ as Argyll Flyer returns.

This is the tenth date given for Argyll Flyer’s return to service since the failing ferry went for ‘planned upgrade works’ six months ago.

The 20-year-old passenger vessel is undergoing sea trials and crew familiarisation exercises on the Firth today (Monday), and made a brief stop at Dunoon Ferry Terminal this morning.
