Last Friday, Robert McKirdy travelled from Bute to Erskine Home for ex-servicemen and women to present a cheque worth £1550 to Jim Watret – charity coordinator, raised from his latest quiz ‘Well known Britons Past & Present’.
The event was well supported, with entries from the south of England and as far north as Shetland.
From 325 completely correct entries, the winners chosen at random were: 1st. – Agnes Logan (Hamilton); 2nd, – Lily Barnett (Laurencekirk); 3rd, – Elizabeth Dunwoodie (Canonbie).
Robert wishes to thank everyone whose generosity contributed to the magnificent total, thanks also go to all who helped with distributing and selling the quiz.
