Bute Shinty Club’s annual prize-giving ceremony took place on Friday, November 22, in what was a memorable evening celebrating the club’s achievements and recognising the outstanding efforts of its players and volunteers over the past season.
The event brought together players, families, supporters, and club officials to reflect on a successful year for the club, both on and off the field.
The night was a chance to recognise the dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship displayed by all members of the club, from the youngest players to the senior team.
The club’s achievements included reaching the Bullough Cup final, narrowly losing out to Lochside Rovers, after an incredible run of results to get there, and many of the younger players being selected to represent the club in north v south encounters.
The club also took the opportunity to recognise the contributions of its volunteers, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the club running smoothly.
Although the season is over, there is hope and optimism that Bute can be competitive next year, and a renewed sense of belief in the sport’s place in the island’s culture has been garnered as the winter months take hold.
