Cowal Kirk to hold service to remember lost loved ones

Christmas and New Year can be very difficult times for many people, not least those who have lost loved ones over the preceding year or in earlier years.

Memories come flooding back, recalling happier times when celebrations at Christmas and Hogmanay were shared.

The passing of a loved one, a close friend, or a life’s companion can make festive celebrations difficult or even impossible, and for some people it is a real struggle to cope on their own.

A Cowal Kirk spokesperson said: “By way of offering solace, and indeed reassurance, Cowal Kirk will be holding a Service of Comfort and Hope, and this will take place in Kirn and Sandbank Church on Tuesday, January 7 at 2pm.

“The service is open to everyone to attend, and it is hoped it will fulfil a need for those who find this a lonely time of year, or who will benefit from a feeling of hope for the year ahead.”
