This weekend’s Dunoon Dazzles and Christmas Lights switch-on events have been delayed after a forecast of exceptionally bad weather.
Snow, heavy rain and gale-force winds are predicted for the area for Saturday, November 22 and for both safety and logistical reasons the decision was made on Wednesday to postpone the celebrations.
The events will now take place on Saturday, November 30.
However, tomorrow’s scheduled market will still take place, but in the warmth and comfort of the town’s Argyll Hotel, between 11am and 4pm.
BID manager Colin Moulson said: “ This has been a tough call to make but the weather on Saturday is forecast for heavy rain and strong winds. While we want everyone to enjoy this event , we also want to keep you all safe while doing so. There may be a few amendments to the line up for the 30th, but we promise that the Dunoon Dazzles Christmas spirit will be there in abundance.
Please do venture out to the Argyll Hotel this Saturday to support our local businesses with their stalls, 11am – 4pm and we’ll see you for all for the street entertainment, market and lights switch on Saturday, November 30.”
