Dunoon events deliver nearly £1M boost to local economy

DUNOON’S biggest events of 2024 have delivered an impressive £901,000 boost to the local economy, according to figures released by Business Improvement District (BID) Dunoon.

The economic impact was calculated using the Events Scotland industry template, alongside visitor and competitor surveys, and highlights the significant return on a £46,000 combined investment from BID Dunoon.

The key contributing events include: Argyll Rally – £411,000, Punk on the Peninsula – £324,000, Dunoon Revival – £147,000 and Cowal Way Ultra Marathon – £19,000.

Dunoon BID manager Colin Moulson explained: “There is definitely something for everybody to enjoy, whether it be tasty treats at the bi monthly Dunoon Markets, beautiful Scottish music and dancing at the Sunset Ceremony, the sight of elite athletes and fun runners tackling the roads and mountain

trails of Cowal or the exhilarating experience of watching the Argyll Rally up close.

“We also look forward to welcoming visitors from all around the UK to these fabulous events and in doing so, bringing a massive financial boost to the local economy.”
