BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to undertake road surface improvements on the A83 between Ardgartan and Honeymoon Bridge.
Starting on Monday (November 25) and finishing on Wednesday, December 4, the project will provide a smoother and safer driving surface for road users.
To allow these works the A83 will be closed in both directions at the work site each night between 8pm and 5am. During road closures, traffic will be diverted along an alternate route via the A82, A85 and the A819. This is an additional 25 miles for those travelling between Tarbet and Inveraray, which is approximately 35 minutes extra journey time.
There will be no works taking place on Friday or Saturday nights. The road will be open outwith working hours, however, speed restrictions will be in place as traffic will be running over a temporary road surface.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works.
BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, Ian Stewart, said: “This resurfacing work on the A83 will address road defects and enhance driving conditions. The road closure is necessary for the safety of both road users and the workforce, but we aim to keep disruption to a minimum by conducting the work overnight.
“We are grateful to the local community and road users for their patience. Please check the Traffic Scotland website for the latest travel updates before embarking on your journey.”
