Police have cordoned the street off

A woman has been taken to hospital following a disturbance on John Street, Dunoon.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 1.25am on Saturday, 23 July, 2022, to a report of a disturbance in the John Street area of Dunoon.

“Officers attended and a 41-year-old woman has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries.

“Two people, a man aged 43 and a woman aged 40, have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquires are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

We understand a cordon remain in place between the Commercial Bar and Dunoon cinema.

Those wishing to access Morrisons supermarket are being advised to enter via the bottom of John Street.
