58 Brandanes take on DYFL football festival

AMONG the hordes of young footballers who took to Dunoon Stadium was a large Bute contingent.

A squad of 58 Brandane Bulls players made the trip to Cowal, with five different age groups competing — 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2015.

The event allowed the Bulls to face teams from across the country, testing their skills against teams they wouldn’t normally face.

In a statement on social media, the Bulls coaches said: “Thank you to DYFL Juniors for hosting a fantastic tournament this weekend.

Proud, as always, of all of our players for their effort, some excellent football played by our young Bulls. We’d also like to say a massive thank you to all of our coaches for their time and commitment over the weekend to make this possible, and also to the parents and family who came to cheer them on.

58 players from Bute playing competitive football in one weekend — we love to see it.”
