Dunoon Hospital Staff Shine in TV Docu-Series

Two members of the Dunoon Hospital paramedic team have featured in a BBC programme showcasing the work that they do within the town.

Paramedic Ben Jackson and Technician Colin Davie featured on the second episode of the seventh series of the show, and were followed on their journey as they urgently transported a patient from Dunoon Community Hospital to Inverclyde Royal hospital on the final ferry of the evening.

This journey exhibited the unique experience that paramedics and technicians within Dunoon Community Hospital are involved with on a daily basis, and the distinctive transportation methods necessary for them to use.

Ben described the challenges that are regularly faced through operation in such a secluded location. For example, a notably smaller amount of calls than paramedics from other parts of the country.

Ben and Colin stated that “It was a pleasure representing Dunoon station and showing some of the challenges that rural stations face. I hope we demonstrated the efforts all the emergency services put into helping everyone who requires our assistance, doing the very best we can when they call 999 in their time of need.”

This episode of Paramedics on Scene is available to stream on BBC iPlayer, and Season Seven of Paramedics on Scene is on BBC Scotland at 9pm every Sunday, and repeated Friday at 8pm.
