FANS of Scottish crime fiction will have the chance to meet one of the country’s best-known authors when bestselling novelist Lin Anderson returns to Bookpoint this week.
The acclaimed Tartan Noir writer and screenwriter will be at the Dunoon bookshop on Monday, August 10, at 6pm to discuss her latest novel, The High Island.
Tickets for the event cost £5, or £20 including a signed copy of the book.
Best known for her popular Dr Rhona MacLeod forensic scientist series, Anderson’s new novel introduces readers to a fresh detective protagonist, DI Erling Flett.
Set on the rugged Isle of Hoy in Orkney, The High Island begins with the discovery of the remains of a young mother and her baby during the construction of an eco-home. The investigation draws DI Flett back to the islands he once left behind, forcing him to confront both a complex murder inquiry and the ghosts of his own past.
As he attempts to uncover the identities of the victims, long-buried family rivalries and dark secrets begin to emerge, with the close-knit island community reluctant to reveal the truth.
