Blairmore and Strone Golf Club report
Ne'er day Cup winner, Russell Clark

RECENT weather has not been conducive to a lot of golf, however the diehards at Blairmore and Strone Golf Club have still been getting up to play and contest both cups and medals.

January kicked off with the annual Ne’er Day Cup, played in near freezing conditions, with Russel Clark emerging as the winner with a net 72 – a very respectable score in the conditions.

Elsewhere, the delayed Ross McArthur December Medal was won by Michael Caveney with an excellent net 58 in very wet conditions.

And the Winter Cup fourth round was won by Donald Cameron, with a net 70, while Michael Caveney finished off the month by winning the Ferguslie Garage January Medal with a net 64 – both exceptionally good scores considering the weather and the damp course, which was still playing well.

The 200 club winners for December and January were John Black and Audrey Disnard who won £95 each.
