Bookpoint to host Palestine fundraising and awareness event

A SPECIAL event in Dunoon organised to raise funds for humanitarian aid to Palestine will be attended by local MP Brendan O’Hara, who will also be speaking at the event.

Bookpoint will host Humanitarian Aid to Palestine on Friday, March 27 from 4pm to 7pm, with all proceeds going to the registered charity Medical Aid for Palestinians.

The event will feature a mix of activities including music, video presentations and a tombola, alongside the sale of Palestinian goods, food products and handcrafted items.

A wide selection of books focusing on the Middle East will also be available, and visitors will be offered free refreshments throughout the afternoon.

Organisers say the event aims not only to raise funds but also to provide an opportunity for people to learn more about the situation in the region.

Local MP Brendan O’Hara, who chairs the Westminster All-Party Parliamentary Group on Human Rights in the Middle East, will be attending and speaking during the event.

All profits from Bookpoint sales during the event, as well as donations collected on the day, will go directly to Medical Aid for Palestinians, which provides essential healthcare and medical support in the region.

Organisers are encouraging as many people as possible to come along and show their support, with donations and tombola prizes also welcomed in advance.

A spokesperson said they hope the event will be both informative and uplifting.

They added: We would love folk to come along and support the event.
