TWO British Wool board members have been returned unopposed following the close of nominations, while an election will now take place in the Welsh Northern region.
Jim Robertson, representing the Scottish Southern region, and Penny Chantler, representing the English Southern region, will both continue in their roles after no other nominations were received for their seats.
However, members in the Welsh Northern region will go to the polls, with three candidates standing for election.
Those nominated are:
-
Huw Evans, Hengwrt Uchaf, Rhydymain, Dolgellau, Gwynedd
-
Sian Evans, Erddeiniog, Tregaian, Llangefni
-
Wyn Williams, Penllwyn, Llanfair Caereinion, Welshpool, Powys
The election process is being administered by Civica Election Services (CES) on behalf of British Wool.
Voting will be available online or by post, with ballot details issued to registered members in the Welsh Northern region on Thursday, January 22, 2026. All votes must be cast by 6pm on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Postal votes must also be received by this deadline.
British Wool has confirmed that historical county boundaries, as they existed prior to the Local Government Act 1972, will be used for the purposes of the election.
Each board member is elected for a three-year term, which will begin on April 1, 2026.
