BRANDANE BULLS 2013s got their 2026/27 league campaign off to a winning start with a 2-1 home victory over Ardgowan at the weekend.

The Bulls had to come from behind to claim all three points, with Ardgowan taking an early lead from the penalty spot.

Both teams were evenly matched during the opening stages before Ardgowan were awarded a penalty. The spot-kick was well taken, sending the Bulls goalkeeper the wrong way to make it 1-0.

Ardgowan threatened to extend their advantage, but the Bulls stood firm and managed to find an equaliser shortly before half-time.

Oscar Mullen reacted quickest after a shot was blocked, firing home to bring the scores level at 1-1.

The second half saw both sides create opportunities, but neither could find the breakthrough for much of the period.

With around ten minutes remaining, Bulls captain Kai McFarlane put his side ahead.

A great corner from Zak found McFarlane, who got his head to the delivery and sent it into the net despite the goalkeeper getting a hand to the effort.

Ardgowan continued to threaten right until the final whistle, but the Bulls held on to secure a 2-1 victory and start their league campaign with three points.

The teams’ players of the week were Clay, Zak and Jay, with all three boys putting in solid performances in their first game of the season.

The Bulls also thanked match sponsors Billy McGregor Plumbing for their support.
