Bulls complete clean sweep against Dumbarton Riverside

BRANDANE Bulls 2013s made it three wins from three against Dumbarton Riverside with an assured 2-0 victory in their latest league encounter.

Having already come out on top in the previous two meetings, the young Bulls side were keen to maintain their dominance and delivered a composed all-round performance to do just that.

The match opened at an even tempo, with both sides enjoying spells of possession. The first real opportunity fell to Oscar, who was unfortunate to see his effort drift just over the crossbar. He quickly made amends, however, when he latched onto a perfectly weighted through ball from Kai McFarlane and finished confidently to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.

Bulls looked to build on their advantage and came close from a corner, where an initial strike was blocked before the rebound was deflected narrowly wide. At the other end, Dumbarton Riverside created chances of their own, but a strong and disciplined defensive display, combined with a reliable showing from the Bulls goalkeeper, ensured the home side went into half-time ahead.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Bulls remaining organised at the back while continuing to press forward. Despite creating several promising opportunities, the decisive second goal proved elusive for much of the half, with a number of efforts just clearing the bar.

The breakthrough finally came in the closing stages. With around 15 minutes remaining, Oscar struck again, showing excellent composure to round the goalkeeper before calmly finishing into an empty net to seal the victory.

The 2-0 result capped another impressive team performance and confirmed a clean sweep of wins over Dumbarton Riverside this season.

Player of the Match was awarded to Kai McFarlane, who produced another outstanding display to earn back-to-back honours and continues to show excellent development.

The club also extended its thanks to Tommy of the Golfers Bar for kindly sponsoring the match.
