Buoyant Bulls battle to the next round

Last weekend saw the Brandane Bulls travel to Parklea to play Port Glasgow Boys Club in the League Cup.

Neither team could find the breakthrough in the first-half, with few chances, as they seemed to cancel each other out with some good defending.

However, it only took five minutes of the second-half for the Bulls to take the lead as a great through pass by Harris set Oscar free, who finished superbly with his left foot into the bottom corner.

Midway through the second period, Oscar doubled the Bulls lead with another free-kick.

He has hit a rich vein of form, scoring four goals in two games now.

With the score at 2-0, Port Glasgow almost found their way back into the game with a free-kick of their own heading for the top corner, but Sam managed to scramble over to palm it away.

That was the best the Boys Club side could offer as the game ended 2-0 and the Bulls progressed to the next round of the League Cup.

Their player of the match went to Jack Roberts, he never put a foot wrong at the back sitting between Kai and Lucas, making up a solid defence now with two clean sheets on the bounce.
