INNELLAN Golf Club has enjoyed a busy and successful start to the new season, with recent competitions drawing strong turnouts and impressive performances across the board.

Members have praised the course’s early condition, with greens in particularly fine shape despite the time of year.

The April Medal saw Billy McLaughlin take top spot with an excellent 38 points. Harry Black finished second on 36, while Graham McGillivray claimed third place with 34.

There was also a great atmosphere at the club’s Spring Meeting, where favourable weather helped bring out a large field. Neil Ferguson delivered a standout performance to take victory with a superb score of 62, which included two birdies during his round. W. McCosh finished second with 64, while Scott Lauffer was close behind in third on 65.

Meanwhile, the Dae It Yersel Spring Series reached its conclusion after four rounds, with the best three scores counting towards the final standings. Stewart Campbell, owner of Dae It Yersel, went into the final round in the lead and held on to claim the title with 60 points, marking the first time he has won his own sponsored trophy.

Speaking afterwards, he joked: I sponsored it masel, I made it masel, and now I’ve won it masel.

Billy McLaughlin continued his strong early-season form to finish second on 58 points, with Len Maxwell taking third place on 55.

Club members were thanked for their continued support, with attention now turning to upcoming competitions as the season gathers momentum.
