EVERYTHING is still to play for at Cowal Golf Club as members prepare for the third and final round of the club championships on Saturday.
After two rounds, G. Blair holds a narrow lead in the Club Championship with a gross score of 145. S. Girvan remains firmly in contention on 148, while Chris Carson is just a shot further back on 149, setting up an exciting finish.
Blair also heads the Handicap Championship with a nett score of 135. P. Collins and S. Girvan are tied for second place on 138, leaving the overall handicap title still very much up for grabs.
The First Class Championship mirrors the overall championship standings, with Blair leading on 145, Girvan second on 148 and Carson third on 149.
There is nothing to separate the leading pair in the Second Class Championship, where C. MacPherson and A. MacDonald are tied at the top on 158 after two rounds. D. Houston remains in contention in third place on 164.
J. Campbell leads the Third Class Championship on 171, ahead of P. Collins on 179 and S. Marshall on 184.
In the Fourth Class Championship, A. MacKay holds a commanding advantage on 212, with C. Smith second on 237.
The Youth Championship has completed one round so far, with C. MacPherson leading on 158. F. Thomas is second on 82 and M. Anderson third on 86.
The championship leaders will tee off in order on Saturday lunchtime, with the final group in the Club Championship expected to provide a fitting climax to what has already been a closely contested competition.
