Cowal Indoor Bowling Club keeps rolling

THE new indoor bowling season is well underway at Cowal Indoor Bowling Club, with mixed results for teams in national competitions.

The gents team completed two games in the Scottish league, unfortunately going down to Galleon (Kilmarnock) in their first game but registering a very good win against Glasgow B in their second–both games being

played at home. Their next game is away to Dumbarton on Saturday, October 25.

The gents senior team has now played four games in their ten-game schedule, unfortunately losing all of them but the margin of defeat is decreasing, showing that improvements are being made.

their next game is Saturday, October 25, at home against Blantyre and starts at 11am

in the stadium with any spectators welcome. In the Scottish national senior pairs first round, Alex Kennedy and Keith Campbell defeated Paisley and will play their second round against the current holders from Lanarkshire on Friday December 12, at Inverclyde Bowling Club with a 10am start.

The pair will go with the full backing of the club.

Internal competitions continue on Monday nights with the points league well underway, gents balloted triples play on Tuesday evenings, Mixed balloted triples commence on October 30 at 7 pm and senior singles are ongoing with the winner representing the club in next year’s national championship.
