Dalmally venue plans self-catering accommodation expansion

A SELF-CATERING venue near Dalmally is to apply to councillors to have the serving of bar meals removed from its premises licence.

Management at Ardbrecknish House, by Loch Awe, also want to add nine self-catering holiday let apartments to the business’s operating plan.

The proposal will be heard by the Argyll and Bute licensing board, consisting of councillors from across the area, at its meeting on Tuesday, February 23.

A report said: “The premises are situated in their own grounds and consist of a bar, reception hall and games/function room.

“The applicants wish to vary the licence…to remove bar meals from the licence and add accommodation [and] add nine self-catering holiday let apartments to the layout plan.

“Ardbrecknish House operates as accommodation with a small pub on the ground floor.

“The variation sought by the new owners will consolidate the provision of self-catering accommodation and remove the provision of food in line with their own business plan.”

Meanwhile, management of a Tiree premises will also apply to extend its core times for on-sales, and to add off-sales to its licence.

The Reef Inn currently operates on-sales from noon to 11pm seven days a week. It is proposed to extend those hours to midnight, and add off-sales from 11am to 10pm seven days a week.

A report said: “The premises is an eight-bedroom inn with public access areas downstairs including a bar, dining area and snug. It is a new build.

“The Isle of Tiree is very rural although the location of the premises is in a specified area for development in local plan and is relatively more developed than most of the island – close to the airport and power station.”
