SPEIRS School of Highland Dancing is celebrating what has been described as an amazing 2025 season, with students representing the Isle of Bute at competitions across Scotland and further afield. Over the course of the year, dancers travelled extensively, competing not only throughout Scotland but also journeying south to Corby and across the water to Belfast to take part in a range of competitions, championships and premiership events.
The season proved to be a milestone year for many of the dancers. Students achieved significant personal goals, from stepping onto the competition floor for the very first time to performing new dances in advanced sections. Their hard work and dedication were rewarded, with many returning home having lifted trophies along the way.
Reflecting on the year, a spokesperson for the school said: “Proud is an understatement of the achievements of this team in 2025. They are a credit not only to their families, but to the Island. Looking forward to the new challenges many students will be facing in 2026 as they progress further in their Highland dancing journey.”
