Dunoon musician Liam Somerville returns to Sandbank stage

DUNOON singer-songwriter Liam Somerville will return to familiar territory this week when he takes to the stage at the Oakbank Community Inn in Sandbank.

The local musician will perform at the venue on Friday, July 10, with his set getting under way at 9pm.

Born and raised in Dunoon, Liam has built up a growing reputation as a live performer, playing headline shows across Scotland as well as supporting established acts at venues including Glasgow’s famous King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut.

His music draws inspiration from classic storytelling songwriters including Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, alongside more contemporary rock acts such as Foo Fighters and The Killers.

Liam has released several singles as well as his EP, Somer Nights, with tracks receiving airplay on local radio stations and programmes.

The Sandbank performance will see the musician return to a venue with strong personal connections.

Liam said: “It’s great to return to the Oakbank as a large majority of my family and friends are Sandbankers, so it will be wonderful to be back playing in my community at a venue that has always been known for a great crowd and a good atmosphere.”

Liam’s performance at the Oakbank Community Inn begins at 9pm, with free entry.
