Dunoon Sheriff Court report

A Greenock man was fined 1,275, ordered to carry out 200 hours of community service and was placed on a community payback order for two years at Dunoon Sheriff Court last week.
On February 4, 2024, Jamie Derrick (40) drove a car on the A815 near Camus Mhor, Sandbank, after consuming so much alcohol that he was nearly four times over the legal limit. He also drove his car without due care and attention and failed to keep the car under control, causing the vehicle to cross into the opposing carriageway and collide with a wall.
Derrick also failed to co-operate with a preliminary breath test and failed to identify himself or give police the identity of the driver of the car.
