Dunoon’s Dr Dare becomes a UK citizen

A CITIZENSHIP Ceremony was held in Castle House, Dunoon on Monday, October 13,  for Dr Akin Dare, a well-known and respected long-term resident of the town.

Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, Dr Dare came to Dunoon over 15 years ago and was working in the hospital until his retirement a short time ago. He thought he had better complete his UK citizenship, after his wife Yetunde completed hers nearly two years before.

The photograph shows Akin, Yetunde and their son, Ogooluwa flanked by councillor Gordon Blair and Depute Lieutenant Peter McDill. Linda Mollins officiated at the ceremony as the assistant registrar for Dunoon and Cowal. A spokesperson for the ceremony said: “Well done and we welcome our new Scots and offer our heartfelt congratulations.”
