Essential carriageway improvements on the A84 at Cambusbeg

  • Works to start on Thursday 12 February
  • Two-way traffic lights system with convoy in place throughout

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out essential overnight improvement works on the A84 at Cambusbeg, East of Callander, from Thursday 12 February.

The works will take place between 7pm and 6am and will be completed by the morning of Wednesday 18 February, with no works taking place on weekend nights.

To protect the workforce and road users, a reduced speed limit and temporary, two-way traffic lights will be in place, with a 10mph convoy. Outside of these working hours, traffic management measures will be removed. A speed restriction will remain in place during the day as traffic will be running on a temporary surface with no road markings.

Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These works will restore the condition of the road surface along this section of the A84, improving driving conditions for all road users.

“Our teams are committed to executing these works quickly and with safety as our top priority. We extend our gratitude to the local community for their patience while we complete the improvements.

“To minimise delays, we recommend that motorists plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”

Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland on www.traffic.gov.scot, X @trafficscotland or on the mobile site my.trafficscotland.org.
