Extra Waverley discount sailing announced from Dunoon

SENIORS in Dunoon are being offered another chance to enjoy a discounted day out aboard the Paddle Steamer Waverley after an additional promotional sailing was added in response to strong demand.

Waverley Excursions has announced an extra ‘Seniors Bring a Friend FREE’ offer on Thursday, August 6, allowing passengers aged 60 and over to take advantage of the popular promotion.

The world’s last seagoing paddle steamer will depart Dunoon at 11.50am, giving passengers the option of going ashore at Largs, Millport or Brodick, or remaining on board for a scenic cruise around the North Arran coast and the Arran mountains before returning to Dunoon at 7.50pm.

The additional sailing follows strong interest in the discount scheme, which offers older passengers the opportunity to bring a companion free of charge.

Paul Semple, General Manager of Waverley Excursions, said the promotion also provides an affordable day out for families during the school holidays.

He said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for grandparents to treat their grandchildren to a memorable summer day out aboard Waverley while making the most of our special Seniors Bring a Friend FREE offer.

“With our Kids for £1 offer available on all sailings, a family day out becomes incredibly affordable. Two grandparents travelling together with two children can enjoy a full day’s scenic cruise aboard Waverley for just £57, or spend time ashore in Brodick on the Isle of Arran for only £53 in total.”

The Waverley will continue sailing from Dunoon until Saturday, August 29, offering a range of cruises to destinations across the Firth of Clyde.

Passengers can explore the vessel’s historic engine room, watch the famous paddle wheels in action and relax in the ship’s restored period lounges while taking in the coastal scenery.

On-board catering is available throughout each sailing, with hot and cold meals, refreshments and a souvenir shop also available.

Tickets can be booked online at waverleyexcursions.co.uk or by calling 0141 243 2224.
