Family's heartfelt thanks to Cowal emergency teams

Editor – The emergency services in Cowal are utterly brilliant. On the evening of Thursday, April 22 my toddler was running in the garden and got her leg stuck just as she was changing direction which resulted in a slightly panicked trip to A&E. The nurses and the doctors in Cowal hospital were so friendly, reassuring, and supportive.

It was decided late at night that the toddler had to go up to the Royal and they were taken in an ambulance by fantastic paramedics to the landing spot for the helicopter, the amazing Coastguard set up a landing spot and gave her a teddy for the journey, the Air Ambulance whisked her off to the Royal and gave her a teddy to help her on the way. The staff in paediatrics at the Royal were great and we cant praise them enough. The Coastguard teddy had the same surgery as the toddler did and the Air Ambulance teddy was suspended over her bed by the staff to keep an eye on things, both were a constant source of reassurance to the toddler.

We had to write in to say how much we appreciate all the amazing emergency personnel; you are phenomenal humans doing the hardest jobs with kindness, compassion and humour, and we are forever grateful. Both teddies and toddler are recovering well at home. Thank you.
