Festive feast brings Christmas cheer to Dunoon Foodbank

DUNOON Foodbank welcomed clients to a festive Christmas dinner on December 18, offering a warm meal, treats and good company in the run-up to the festive period.

Tables were laid for 50 guests, who were greeted with soft drinks and nibbles before sitting down to a traditional Christmas feast. The menu included roast chicken and pork, stuffing, pigs in blankets, mixed vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and gravy, followed by trifle, mince pies, chocolates, tea and coffee. Gift bags were also given to everyone who attended.

The meal was cooked by Tommy, Liz and Anne, with volunteers helping to set up the room and serve the food. A volunteer later shared on social media that it was a really good day, with lots of positive feedback and a joyful atmosphere, complete with Christmas jumpers, hats and festive cheer and, most importantly, a chance for people to come together.
