DUNOON Amateur Boxing Club’s Shay Morgan celebrated a major milestone at the weekend as he claimed his first win in the ring with an impressive performance at Doon Valley Boxing Club’s home show.
The young boxer delivered a confident display, securing victory by second-round stoppage after dominating from the opening bell.
Speaking after the bout, Shay summed up his achievement simply: “It feels great.
“We’ve worked really hard on everything that I needed to learn from the last fight.”
And that hard work paid off on the night, as Shay noted how much more composed and assured he felt than before
From the outset, he appeared in control, landing clean combinations and using his training effectively. After a strong first round, the contest was brought to an early conclusion when the opposing coaches decided to retire their boxer at the start of the second.

After the fight Shay said: “I had a big burger on the second day and a lie in.”
Club representatives also thanked Doon Valley Boxing Club for hosting ‘a fabulous event’, describing it as a great night for everyone involved.
With his first win now under his belt, Shay will be looking to build on this success as he continues his boxing journey.
