FOR BUTE, the well-known local charity shop, is now the official sponsor for Bute Island Radio, making a generous donation of 2,500 which helps to ensure Bute’s much-loved local radio station continues to broadcast for the community.
Bute Island Radio is entirely run by volunteers and relies on a mix of advertising, grants, and kind donations to stay on air. This latest contribution will make a real and immediate difference, supporting the station’s presenters and wide range of programmes that bring local voices, music, news, and community spirit to listeners across the island.
The donation was kindly presented by Marlene Hill, handing over the cheque to Bute Island Radio presenter Finlay Martin. Special thanks also went to Charlene, who helped organise the donation, and to Gloria, who manages the station alongside the dedicated management committee.
Everyone at Bute Island Radio would like to say a heartfelt thank you to For Bute and all those who support the charity shop. Your generosity helps keep local radio alive on Bute, celebrating local talent, sharing local stories, and keeping the island connected.
