STRACHUR-DUNOON produced a devastating attacking display on Saturday, May 23, as they swept aside Stirling with a 15-0 victory in the first of a double-header at the Clachan of Glendaruel.
Despite Stirling missing several key players, the visitors battled throughout the 90 minutes, but Strachur-Dunoon proved far too strong in front of goal.
Ken Lawns led the charge in the first half, striking four times as the home side stormed into a commanding position before the interval. Martin Hall, Sandy Paterson and Hunter Black also found the net to give Strachur-Dunoon a 7-0 lead at the break.
Fresh legs were introduced in the second half, but the relentless pressure continued as the hosts added eight more goals. Hall completed a superb four-goal haul with another three strikes after the restart, while Paterson added his second of the afternoon.
Roddy Cairns bagged a brace, Spencer Thoms produced a composed finish, and Kyle McMartin celebrated his first goal for the club as Strachur-Dunoon completed an emphatic win.
There were standout performances all over the pitch, but Martin Hall earned the man-of-the-match award after an influential display in the forward line. Operating from the point position, Hall dictated play throughout and capped his performance with four well-taken goals.
The club also paid tribute to ColGlen Shinty Club for hosting the double-header at Glendaruel and thanked the Colintraive Hotel for providing post-match hospitality.
Strachur-Dunoon now turn their attention to next Saturday’s Bullough Cup clash away to Kilmory.
