HAVING already earned a strong reputation as a new car, the Hyundai Tucson has now been recognised as one of the UK’s finest pre-owned vehicles, winning Best Used Car Over £18,000 at the Scottish Car of the Year Awards 2025.
The awards, organised by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW), were handed out at a ceremony at Edinburgh’s Dalmahoy Hotel, and it proved to be a memorable evening for Hyundai, with Tucson being named Best Used Car Over £18,000. The awards were decided by Scotland’s most experienced motoring journalists and road testers, and after crowning Santa Fe Large Car of the Year and IONIQ 5 N Performance Car of the Year in 2024, Hyundai was recognised once again.
Since its launch in 2021, Tucson has been a fixture in the UK new car top-sellers list, and last year alone it accounted for 35 per cent of the 91,800 cars Hyundai sold here. It’s available with a 160PS T-GDI petrol engine, as well as a 48V mild hybrid, hybrid and plug-in hybrid, and has picked up an array of awards from leading media outlets including Top Gear, Auto Express and Carbuyer. This isn’t Tucson’s first recognition in the used-car category either; it was also successful at the 2025 What Car? Used Car Awards, where it was commended for its practicality, quality, driving experience and value.
Hyundai makes it simple to buy a pre-owned Tucson with confidence through its Hyundai Promise and Approved Used Programmes. Hyundai Promise cars are under 36 months old, have fewer than 60,000 miles, and come with a minimum 24-month warranty, which can be upgraded to five years. Approved Used Tucsons (under 80,000 miles) come with the balance of the manufacturer warranty if less than five years old, or a retailer-supplied warranty if older.
