Increase in police road patrols after driving offences detected

POLICE are increasing road patrols in Dunoon and the surrounding area following a number of recent traffic offences.

In recent weeks, local officers have detected incidents including careless driving, driving without insurance, having no MOT, speeding and dangerous driving.

Road Policing units will now carry out targeted patrols across the area in a bid to improve road safety, encourage responsible driving and identify potential hazards.

Motorists are being reminded to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy before setting off, with all necessary tests, insurance and documentation up to date.

A police spokesperson said the increased presence is aimed at keeping roads safe for all users and reducing the risk posed by unsafe or illegal driving.
