Innellan Golf club Report

A BUSY week with fantastic weather had many of Innellan Golf Club’s members keen to leave their mark on the course.

Monday’s coveted Western Ferries stableford had a tight finish, however Stewart Campbell took the honours with 37 points.

Second place, only one behind, was Scott Lauffer on 36, and third with 35 was Andrew Rodgers.

It was a tough day and with the course being so dry balls were running far wider than usual.

Sunday was the rescheduled December medal.

Robert Dodds took first place with a superb 61, second went to John Carmichael with 63 and third was Dan Wilkinson, who was also on 63 but beaten on a countback.

Wilkinson is in fine form after a superb hole-in-one at the fourth in a previous competition.

The ladies nine hole stableford saw the ever present Margaret Gallagher win with 19 points, second and beaten on the countback was Margaret Lauder, with third on the day being ShonnaDerretwith16.

The penultimate round of the Saturday series was won by in-form Dan Wilkinson with a superb 61.

Second was Harry Black with a 63 who beat Iain McKie on the countback.

Mckie and Derrett go into the last Saturday of the series, with both on 95 points in a tightly contested.

This week’s winner in the Wednesday series was Thomas Law with a sensational 22 points.

Second was Duncan Lauder with 21 and third was Andrew McLaughlin with 20.

The Wednesday series only has one week left after this week, with six players in contention for the series win.

Overall, this coming week has the last two series matches and the September medal on Sunday, which promises to be a busy occasion on the course.
