NEXT MONTH heralds the return of a much loved and important local event in Dunoon, which in the past has raised thousands of pounds for local and national causes.
On Saturday, November 1, shoppers are being invited to Dunoon Inner Wheel’s Craft and Gift Fair at Dunoon Grammar School.
The event will run from 10am until 3pm and organisers have confirmed all stalls are now taken, with a waiting list in place, reflecting strong demand for the much-loved annual event.
Visitors can expect a wide mix of locally made goods, including jewellery, handmade cards, textiles, wooden gifts, knitwear, chutneys and jams, and beauty products.
A tearoom will run throughout the day, with all proceeds supporting the P7–S1 transition weekend at Benmore.
Admission is £1 for adults and 50p for under-14s. There is free parking on site, and the 489 bus stops outside the school, departing hourly from Dunoon Ferry Terminal.
Dunoon Inner Wheel stated that they remain grateful for the community’s continued support, noting that the club has raised many thousands of pounds over the years for local and national causes.
Last year a significant contribution went towards the purchase of a new defibrillator for Dunoon Stadium, made possible in collaboration with St John’s.
Several local organisations also received donations, including Dunoon Army Cadets, Dunoon Hospice, Youth Stuff, Dunoon Christmas Lights, and the Katrina Martin School of Dancing.
In addition to supporting local groups, the Inner Wheel also made contributions to the national Inner Wheel Association charities Arthritis Care and Sense Scotland. The Scottish Air Ambulance Service, which plays a vital role across the region, also received funding. The group extended support further afield with a donation to the Disasters
Emergency Committee (DEC), which coordinates humanitarian aid in countries affected by war,
famine, andothercrises. Last year’s Craft and Gift Fair was Dunoon Inner Wheel’s most successful
and busiest event yet and organisers are keen to go even further on Saturday, November 1.
