Kyles Athletic withdraw junior team from South Division One

KYLES ATHLETIC has announced the withdrawal of their junior team from South Division One for the remainder of the current season.

Speaking on social media, the club said the decision had been a difficult one, with the challenge of fielding two teams from an already limited playing squad becoming increasingly difficult.

Kyles Athletic also acknowledged the efforts of those involved in trying to maintain the team, including several long-retired players who had returned to help when required.

In a statement, the club said it believed withdrawing the junior side was the right decision for the club at this stage.

Despite the setback, Kyles Athletic remains positive about the future, with the development of its under-14 and under-17 players still at the heart of the operation.

The club hopes the progress of those players will put it in a position to field two teams again next season.

Kyles Athletic thanked its sponsors and supporters, as well as its players and coaches, for their continued commitment to the club.

The club also highlighted the importance of the time and effort contributed by those involved in maintaining shinty within the local community.

The withdrawal means Kyles Athletic’s junior team will not complete the remainder of its South Division One campaign, while the club’s focus now turns towards developing its younger players and building towards next season.
