Kyles coach issues rallying call as they close in on charity aim

KYLES Athletic has been raising funds for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) in loving memory of Callie-Rose, a close family member of the squad who lost her life at a young age.

The shinty club is aiming to cover 2,358 miles, the equivalent distance of travel to each away ground in the Premiership, in time for the beginning of the season.
They are aiming to raise £1 for every mile the team covers, meaning the club has the ambitious target of £2,358.

As a community club, Kyles felt they should do their part, which birthed the idea of the challenge, highlighting not only Callie-Rose’s story but the travel involved in top-level shinty.
Whether it’s walking, running, cycling or swimming, everyone is getting stuck in however they can.

However, despite having less than 200 miles left, they still remain some way short of their monetary goal.
At the time of writing, the JustGiving page sits at the halfway mark, totalling just shy of £1,200.
And the club is hoping for help from the people of Cowal to reach their target before their opening game of the campaign.

Head coach Grant Profit said: “The squads have been working hard and have put in the hard graft and effort.
If you can afford it, please donate to a great cause to get us over the line.”
