Letters to the Editor - Warning sounded over Chinese influence in UK

Editor – The one thing any Prime Minister must do is read The Times. Starmer never does. Or if he does, it never occurs to him that our country is under intense attack. Last week, we read that the super Chinese embassy in London is to go ahead. From within it, every kind of skullduggery will go on, all over Britain, just because the Chinese have waved a fat bunch of banknotes and been allowed to buy into it. Yet, China would never allow anything equivalent in its country.

In the last two months, The Times has shown that the financial details of everyone in the UK have been successfully downloaded by Chinese which can be decrypted at their leisure for future blackmail and other purposes. Almost a full page of The Sunday

Times has shown a list of Chinese companies in the UK which yearly extract £190 billion in profits for Chinese companies. Chinese students in the UK are known to be required to convey to their homeland every detail of creative research process ongoing in the UK. Of course, that would never be allowed in China. Dominic Cummings in Johnson’s premiership, a few years ago,

told of Downing Street being usurped by Chinese internet scammers.

Britain has failed to respond to a concerted move to take over our country by the simple expedient of waving cash in our face and telling lies about their intent.

We need to wake up. No wonder we have lost so much ground.

William Scott,

Rothesay
