For the third season running, Dunoon Community Council has teamed up with Dunoon Presents to deliver kudos for the people behind the best dressed properties in the community.
The judges for 2025’s Best Dressed Property had their work cut out this year. So many businesses and residential properties were decked out in festive decorations, Dunoon was truly well-lit this year.
On Friday, December 12, the head judge (who is eight years old) and her granny wandered around all the businesses looking at the lights and decorations.
The judge was heard to remark that Santa would definitely see Dunoon from his sleigh high in the sky because it is so pretty and lit up.
The winner of the Business Best Dressed Property 2025 is The Card Shop in Argyll Street, with its display of lights and reindeer.
The two runners-up were Ingrams Bar on Ferry Brae and The Woodland Florist in Kirn. Both look amazing, with their Christmas lights shining bright through the dark winter’s night.
On Sunday night, the judges braved the rain and wind to travel down every single street in Dunoon, looking at the hundreds of properties and their decorations. This year’s competition was even harder than last year’s, with many more houses being lit up.
The winner of the Residential Best Dressed Property 2025 is Mrs Muir of Dixon Avenue. Her property is a marvel of Christmas cheer and a festive wonderland.
The runners-up this year were Mr McGuigan on Clyde Street, with a very elegant property that was well lit up and adorned with timed lights.
The final runner-up was again Mr and Mrs Middleton in the Glebe, showcasing again another fantastic display, complete with a Santa’s grotto.
The organisers say they want to congratulate the winners, the runners-up and all who took part.
And Dunoon Community Council, along with Dunoon Presents, is keen to say to all who read these words: have a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
