COLGLEN had a tough outing on Saturday as they travelled away to play Lochaber at Spean Bridge. Unfortunately, the Cowal men returned empty-handed after a last minute goal denied them a share of the points.
However, it was ColGlen who opened the scoring. After a goalless first-half, substitute Kyle MacMartin scored a tidy goal ten minutes after the interval.
Although playing well with plenty of possession, ColGlen failed to capitalise and build on their precarious lead. Then, they let Lochaber back in to the contest when their top scorer Ben Delaney bagged an equaliser from short range.
As referee Jamie MacPherson’s clock ran down it looked like both teams would settle for a point each. However, in the very last minute of injury time, Lochaber struck an excellent free hit from the halfway line, finding Stuart Callison who shot down the middle to score the winner.
Jubilation for the home team; devastation for ColGlen, who desperately needed at least a point as they battle it out at the foot of the Premiership.
However the Glen still have five games to play, and they will need to pull out all the stops to gain as many points as possible.
